Another United Airlines flight crashed in Western Pennsylvania outside Pittsburgh, en route from Newark to San Francisco. Airline officials and other authorities said the four planes were carrying a total of 233 passengers, 25 flight attendants and eight pilots. The Federal Aviation Administration has grounded all outgoing flights in the country until at least noon Sept. 12. All international flights to U.S. destinations have been diverted to Canada. All flights between Europe and the U.S. have been suspended. Land borders with Mexico and Canada are closed. About 50,000 people work in the World Trade Center. Many were arriving to their jobs when the first plane struck. Workers in buildings across Manhattan were evacuated and U.S. financial markets closed for the day.
